Colibria Launches Companion IM Gateway at 3GSM World Congress 2006

Colibria unveils its Companion IM Gateway Solution on Stand No: E84-86 in Hall 2.

Colibria AS, the leading international developer of mobile Instant Messaging and Presence Service technology platforms, is unveiling the Colibria Companion IM Gateway at 3GSM World Congress – a carrier-grade solution that enables mobile network operators to offer external IM-based messaging services to subscribers over OMA IMPS. Based on the industry proven Colibria Companion IM and Presence Server, the IM Gateway solution provides mobile operators with a fast-track platform from which to generate new revenues from the widespread established messaging market.

Based on certified access to the leading messaging services, including MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ and AIM, the Colibria Companion IM Gateway also provides an XMPP-based server-to-server solution for the operator’s own, or third-party services using the Jabber/GoogleTalk protocol. The Colibria Companion IM Gateway can be either hosted by Colibria or deployed in the operator network. It incorporates a robust and flexible billing interface, as well as bonus billing and support for other promotional schemes. In addition, Colibria IM Gateway supports a variety of clients to enable maximum accessibility, dependant on the IM service provider.

The Colibria Companion IM Gateway supports a comprehensive set of functions, including:

  • Full adherence to the MSN IM Gateway test cases
  • Send/receive individual IM
  • View contacts
  • Support for multiple groups (contact lists)
  • Set presence status
  • Presence information for: Online, Busy, Away, Offline and other status texts
  • Emoticons
  • Add and delete a contact
  • Automatic provisioning on gateway
