Colibria Launches Best-in-class Internet Community Mobile Instant Messaging Solution
New Windows Live Messenger™ end-to-end solution to deliver the most user-centric experience available.
Colibria, the leading Mobile Instant Messaging (MIM) provider, has today announced a new fully managed Windows Live Messenger solution for Operators and Service Providers. The new client-server solution will provide an end-to-end MIM implementation that delivers compelling service features and a seamless subscriber experience.
Developed by Colibria’s in-house team, and incorporating a new J2ME/Symbian compatible Client and Windows Live Messenger Gateway, the solution provides an extensive feature set. This includes the ability to receive ‘nudges’, send pictures, sound and video, join in multi-party conversations across internet and mobile IM, as well as enabling users to set and receive Presence information.
Colibria already has extensive expertise in deploying Internet Community IM solutions, having implemented the Windows Live Messenger service for 11 million TeliaSonera subscribers across Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Sweden (TeliaSonera Sweden and Halebop) and Norway (NetCom). In combination with the company’s extensive experience in Operator Community IM solutions, Colibria now powers new generation mobile communities throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America with an addressable subscriber base in excess 300m users.
Lars Kristian Roland, CTO Colibria, commented: "Both Operator-owned and Internet-based Mobile Instant Messaging services have a crucial role to play in driving consumer adoption of MIM. These two models will grow side by side. For instance, Strategy Analytics predicts that Internet based services will smash $1.2 billion a year by 2011 - around 25% of the global MIM market. This is a huge potential industry and ensuring a compelling user experience through the most advanced solutions is vital to realise this."
Colibria’s Internet Community IM solutions work seamlessly with its modular portfolio of Subscription and Download Manager server products. To give the most effective service for Operators, the Subscription Manager module supports marketing campaigns and multiple subscription charging models. The Download Manager allows Operators to create push and pull models for download and upgrade of device client software.
All Colibria’s Internet Community IM solutions are fully managed by Colibria’s data centre, offering secure and robust hosting and management services. This solution will support Microsoft’s protocol MSP 3.0.
